Join NWPC OC on August 13th at 7pm via Zoom for a short video screening and panel with local candidates to discuss Anti-Asian Racism during Covid-19. The panel will feature Tammy Kim, Diedre Thu-Ha Nguyen, Farrah Khan, Kim Nguyen, and Dave Min. Learn more about the panelists below:



Farrah Khan is running to serve as Mayor of Irvine. Farrah has served on Irvine City Council for the past 18 months and has focused on protecting public education funds, affordable housing, and the environment. As mayor, Farrah will continue to work on housing issues, make Irvine more economically and environmentally sustainable, increase transparency throughout the city government, support individual and business recovery, prioritize public safety, and provide leadership on social justice issues.



Dave Min is running to serve on California State Senate. Dave is a nationally-recognized economic policy expert and has fought to protect and strengthen economic opportunity for working Americans for the past 20 years. As a State Senator, Dave aims to prioritize issues such as climate change, homelessness, education, healthcare, women's rights, economic insecurity, and gun violence.



Tammy Kim is running to serve on Irvine City Council. She has been an Irvine resident for 15 years and will bring her experience as a small business owner, non-profit leader, community advocate and a mother to better serve the citizens, businesses and community organizations of Irvine. Tammy's priorities for office include commitment to public safely, affordability, sustainable development, innovation and economic development.


Diedre Thu-Ha Nguyen is running to serve on California State Assembly, District 72. Diedre is a cancer research scientist and currently serves on Garden Grove City Council. She looks forward to bringing those values to state government, especially the idea that if you work hard and do what’s right you should get ahead. Diedre shares the values of her community and aims to achieve middle class prosperity and create a positive change to her community.


Kim Nguyen is running to serve a second term on Garden Grove City Council. As a council member, Kim has been an advocate for economic development, public safety, infrastructure improvements, park rehabilitation, women’s issues, LGBTQ issues and ensuring that immigrants who call Garden Grove home have dignity and opportunities to thrive in their community. In the next four years, Kim pledges to continue advocating for funding and grants to improve Garden Grove infrastructure and working with the community to further build trust and accountability.
