Sisters Trưng Trắc and Trưng Nhị decided to lead a rebellion against the governor of the Jiaozhi province after he ordered the beheading of Trưng Trắc’s husband without a trial. Their movement quickly gained support and the Chinese settlements were outnumbered.

Our next notable woman from history is a personal favorite of this author. Nefertiti, or Neferneferuaten Nefertiti, was the ChiGreat Royal Wife of Pharaoh Akhenaten, later known as the Heretic Pharaoh. Nefertiti and her husband brought about a religious revolution to Ancient Egypt by elevating one god above the others (Aten). Both were largely erased from history, therefore little is known about their lives.
