Please Note:  NWPC OC has changed the date of their Monthly Meetings.  Meetings are now held the 4th Tuesday of the month.  Locations vary, so please check the calendar.  We have also changed the meeting format from pot luck to Taco Tuesday.  You no longer have to bring a dish to share!  Just pay the $10 fee to cover dinner and show up!  Don't forget to register (scroll down this page) so that we know how much food to order.

Anila.jpgGuest Speaker:  Anila Ali, Coastline Representative Pakistan

Educator – Author – Activist - CEO

This past February Anila was a guest in Washington D.C. at the White House. She will share her extraordinary experience on the esteemed “White House Panel on Countering Violent Extremism.”

Anila is a member on the highly acclaimed “LA Pilot Program.” This group of esteemed law enforcement and community leaders shared their findings on the effectiveness of collaboration in building resilient communities.  These communities are the first line of defense against terrorism. You will hear how our Irvine and Orange county communities have benefitted greatly by these important collaborations.

Anila Ali is an educator to Middle School students and is the author of “Mommy am I A…?”, a children’s book highlighting cultural differences and acceptance.

Anila’s most recent project has been the collaboration of an online college program between Pakistan and our community colleges with the ability for transfer, matriculation and a four-year college degree. This unique opportunity enables Pakistanis, especially women, accessibility to an affordable education, a level of freedom and opportunity where little has been available.

Anila is a community activist. She is the President of AMWEC American Muslim Women’s Empowerment Council, member of the Board of Trustees for the Irvine Public School Foundation, the founder of Irvine Pakistani Parents Association and was a delegate to the 2012 Democratic National Convention.

We could say more as there is so much more to say about this extraordinary woman. Please join us for an evening with Anila Ali.
